Certifix
Overview
Certifix Ltd is a UK company that supplies specialist fixings for the façade and construction industry, with their range including concrete fasteners, cladding fixings, screws, bolts, and chemical anchors. We built a strong new Shopify site for them to help increase their sales.

Traditionally relying on phone, email, and account manager relationships, Certifix identified the need to transform their ecommerce presence into a major revenue-driving channel. Subsequently, the decision to partner with Pixel Kicks was made in order to design and build a new Shopify website to lead this transformation.
Challenges
Certifix’s existing website had been built in-house several years ago using the Odoo platform. While Odoo integrated their ERP and CRM systems, it brought certain limitations:
- Poor design flexibility and functionality.
- Significant usability issues for both customers and administrators.
- Weak analytics, leaving little visibility on performance.
- Poor brand messaging, making it difficult for both staff and customers to succinctly describe what Certifix offered.
Goals
The project had a clear set of goals:
- Build a new, scalable ecommerce website on Shopify.
- Improve speed, usability, and mobile responsiveness.
- Deliver a powerful search function allowing users to find products quickly.
- Preserve and grow search engine rankings.
- Create a clean and modern design to align with the refreshed Certifix brand.
- Cater to both B2B and B2C audiences with a straightforward, conversion-driven user journey.
- Futureproof the platform for marketing growth, including PPC and SEO campaigns.

Pixel Kicks’ Solution
Following a discovery process and technical meetings, Pixel Kicks proposed a Shopify-based solution that would provide a robust, scalable foundation for growth.
Key aspects of the approach included:
- Platform choice: Shopify offered reliability, scalability, and a full range of ecommerce functionality out of the box.
- Plytix integration: All product data would be centrally managed in Plytix, with seamless syncing to Shopify, making product updates efficient and scalable.
- Design: A modern, clean layout inspired by leading retailers like Fischer, Hilti, B&Q, Screwfix and Mango Bikes, with a clear emphasis on simplicity, speed, and conversion.
- SEO foundations: Pixel Kicks carried out a technical SEO audit, Core Web Vitals optimisation, URL redirects from the old site, and ensured the new site was fully optimised for mobile users and fast-loading.
