Skateboard GB is the National Governing Body for skateboarding in England and the home of Olympic skateboarding in Great Britain. Run by skateboarders, for skateboarders.

Skateboard GB was formed in 2017, as the National Governing Body for skateboarding in England and the home of Olympic skateboarding in Great Britain. They are a membership based and not-for-profit organization set up to improve, support and develop skateboarding.

The SGBG Brief

Their long-term ambitions are to become a digital leader as a sporting organisation, and were looking to work with an agency that can understand the skateboarding audiences and needs of the stakeholders, to create a website which will engage with all users.

The new website was required to be well structured, resonate the high quality brand values of Skateboard GB and is able to grow with the organisational needs.

Open Invitation

An open invitation was posted to agencies on LinkedIn back in early 2023, with the brief to produce a new website for Skateboard GB – the governing body of skateboarding in the UK. As you can imagine, they were inundated with applications, and the process of shortlisting began.

We submitted our interest in the project, and had a number of Zoom calls with the SBGB team, subsequently submitting a detailed proposal that contained our project methodology, design mock-ups and user journeys.

To our delight, we were chosen as the successful agency from a full 60 independent submissions, a testament to the research, passion and determination of our team.

The Project

We built a slick and stylish WordPress website that seamlessly integrates their brand values with user-friendly navigation. The website features a modern design that resonates with skateboarders of all ages and skill levels, showcasing high-quality visuals and engaging content.

Key functionalities include an interactive events calendar, a comprehensive resources section for training and development, and the UK’s number one skateboard app “MySkate” which allows skateboarders to search and locate skateparks across the country by entering a location or postcode.
